TheSoul Publishing is one of the largest online publishers in the world that creates and publishes hundreds of entertaining and educational videos, articles and animations every day for more than 1 billion subscribers around the world.

We publish content on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, we have our own websites and mobile applications.

Our IT team is working on a variety of projects:

• a highly loaded content production management system;

• cloud solutions for video and animation production;

• internal electronic document management and systems of payment;

• corporate analytics system.

• Our solutions are uniquely designed, with complex business logic, high workloads and microservice architecture.

We are looking for a Middle QA Engineer to work on our core content production management system project. The employee will join our professional QA team and will be engaged in manual testing of web applications, as well as participating in writing autotests.

Responsibilities

• Take part in the creation and support of various test models;

• Conduct manual testing of UI and API both by test cases within the release cycle and in research mode;

• Participate in the development and support of automated tests.

• What is required from candidates:

• To understand various types of functional testing;

• Master the basic test design techniques, be able to define equivalence classes and apply the boundary value method in practice;

• Have a good idea of what impact a particular defect can have on the product, and be able to prioritize test cases;

• Ability to communicate in English effectively.

Also important:

• To have a good general idea of how the HTTP 1.x protocol works: request and response structure, headers, response codes, redirect, caching control;

• Know the basic data transfer formats (JSON, XML, URL-encoded), the URI structure, the multipart format of the request body;

• Have a general understanding of the various principles of organizing API (REST, RPC);

• Have a good understanding of what HTML and CSS are;

• Understand the basic principles of a web application, imagine the whole cycle from sending a request to rendering a page;

• Know the main browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari), be able to use the debugging tools built into them.

Will be an advantage:

• General familiarity with pairwise testing methods;

• Experience with Asana and Confluence;

• Experience with tools for manual API analysis (Postman, Charles Proxy or their equivalents).
